London Snowed AGAIN

London indeed snowed again last Thursday! Snowing twice within the period of one month is something really really rare. The last time London snowed was 3 years ago. Anyway, this time round, it snowed quite heavily throughout until almost mid day. It was a darn cold trip to work. My toes almost froze. It was darn painful and it wasn't quite functioning when I reached the office. Had to take out my boots to massage the toes to get the blood flowing again.

Anyhow, although the snow kept on falling, it couldn't settle as the temperature is too warm for the snow to settle. However it did enough damage to the transportation system. Many did not turn up for work that day and also quite a number of schools were closed.

My colleague told me a story about snowing in London. The last severe one he remembered was in the 1960s, he said that it snowed for months in London without stopping and that time river Thames was frozen, they could skate on it. The snow piled up so high because it couldn't melt and there was mountains of black snow everywhere. He said that was an ugly sight.

Actually a lot of my colleagues have a lot of stories to tell, but most of their stories took place in 1960s, before we were even born! Some of them live in the age whereby they use coal for heating, gosh, I don't know how long ago was that..they are quite ancient!
