Food is very affordable in Prague. It used to be much cheaper probably about 5 years back, but even now, it is still quite cheap. For between 5 to 8 pounds, we get to dine in a very nice restaurant, a very decent meal that probably comes with either beer or a starter, and dessert. :)
We ate like a king for that few days, but towards the end, we got a bit sick of all the meat. In general, they have a lot of meat dishes. However, the Czechs are not fat though..
Some photos of the food (although not taken like a professional, but well, something to share).

Beef Goulash, with Gnocchi (little dumplings made from potatoes, semolina, flour, or a combination of these ingredients)
Pig's trotter (one of the speciality of eastern european countries) - a really really big meal. 2 person can share! I couldn't finish it..got so sick of meat after that. I think how they cooked it is deep fry it and then put it into the oven with some spices. The dish is complimented with some pickled carrots, radish and baby cucumbers.
I like the way they make latte here, they keep the 2 layers separate when they serve it. Nice presentation I think.
One of the Czech special food is this thing called the dumpling. (you will see it as the white 'mantou' like bread at the side of the meat. This dish is actually the speciality of the restaurant, it was a premiumm meal, a mixture of chicken and different cuts of pork. They seemed to have braised the pork. Was really tasty.
And ohhh...the czechs has their own local coffee as well, itis called 'Tureckza' and it costs only 10 crowns, which is equivalent to 25 pence. It is really really thick black coffee, serves with the coffee grounds. One may choose to drink it black or with sugar. But no milk. Taste almost like our local coffee back home....yummmmmmmmm.....heaven...especially if one needs a quick kick!
