World War III, anyone?

Sometimes it makes me wonder if we are in the midst of World War III without us knowing it? I mean how does one classify an event as world war? I mean as compared to WW1 and WW2, aren't we pretty in the same shape as during then if not worse?

Since there have been so much development since the 1940s in the world, we can't possibly compared to how things were then right? I mean I am talking about to what extent only shall we classified a situation to be WW...

After all, even today, there are also bombings, and scarcity of food, and state of emergency in certain countries, innocence murdered cold bloodedly in the name of war and people living day by day not knowing if today will be their last etc. Worst still, we have terrorisms to deal with, and a possible nuclear war which can escalate to something uncontrollable!

Have u ever noticed that if u were to go through all the regions of the world, there is surely at least one or more countries that are in war with each other, be it a real real fighting war, or cold war.

So, ever wondered if we are really in the midst of WW3? And if we are, when did it start? And do you ever think that the conditions around the world will ever get better? Or would it just be a downward spiral from here? Do you think this age will make it into the history books as the age called War of the World or something like that?
